About

Hello and welcome! I’m Lisa, and I run the WIP (Work In Progress) Lounge to help quilters finish their quilt projects while being part of a fun community. I also write and curate patterns for the modern-traditional quilter who loves playing with alllllll the fabric (if you’re here, that’s probably you)!

Both my mom and grandma taught me to sew and I started quilting when I was 18, piecing a queen-sized quilt top the summer after I graduated from high school. However, it wasn’t until my second child was born another 18 years later that I bought my own sewing machine and fell (hard!) in love with quilting again. I’m so glad I did…the quilting community is amazing!

My husband and I, along with three happy kiddos, call Kansas City home. Beyond quilting, I work a full-time day job as a landscape architect designing parks and playgrounds, and also enjoy spending time outdoors (hiking is my fave!), laughing with friends, gardening, dabbling with watercolor paints, baking from scratch, traveling around the world, and reading real books.

Thanks for stopping by my online space! I hope you will say hello sometime soon, or join me for some fun over on Instagram and Pinterest. Happy quilting!
