  • The Discs

After a LOT of research and trial and error, I’ve found that a disc-bound planner system offers the most customizable and convenient option for most people. For 8.5 x 11 pages you’ll need 11 discs and I recommend getting at least the 1.25” diameter discs (and the 1.5” might be even better depending on what you’d like to add in!). Most discs are very similar, and you can find them in different colors and designs to suit your taste on the following websites:

  • Disc-Bound Planner Hole Punch

Having the right hole punch allows you to add absolutely anything into your planner! Got some school or work calendars you need to have for handy reference? Or maybe some quilty cheat sheets? Punch and add them in where you can easily find them!

  • Nice Printer Paper

While you can print your planner on any ‘ol paper, you may want a slightly thicker/smoother paper to give your planner a luxurious feel. This is the paper I like to use for smooth, crisp printing.

  • Home Printer

If you’re printing from home, a good printer is a helpful tool! This is an updated model of the printer I have at home, and I love it. Easy to set up, easy to use, and it prints nice and crisp!

Extra-Fun Planner Tools

  • Planner Section Divider Tabs

Use these handy tabbed dividers to make sections in your planner. You could add dividers by month, add a section at the back for your quilt patterns or project tracking pages, create a separate quilt design sketching or notes section, or something else entirely!

  • Page Bookmarks

Quickly track where you’re at each day with page bookmarks. You can even use separate ones for the daily vs. the weekly pages! There are a lot of colorful, fun options out there, just keep your eyes open for them (sometimes they’re even on sale at your local craft stores)!

  • Stickers!

One of the most fun ways I’ve found to add some of your own personality and style to your planner is with stickers. And if you have stickers, a plastic protector page to keep them in that inserts right into your disc-bound planner is kinda amazing, too. Stickers are 100% behind one of the tab dividers in my own planner!

  • Monthly Tabs

These pre-printed monthly tabs come in several fun colors and can be inserted into your planner to keep your monthly view (and other important information) easy to find!

The medium point felt tip marker pens from Paper Mate are my absolute favorite.
