While I can’t pretend to be a hand-sewing expert, I do really enjoy binding my quilts by hand. This past year I discovered that 40 wt thread tangles WAY less often than the 50 wt I’d been using previously. Faster finishing? Brilliant!

Friends, if you buy nothing else on this list, please please please buy these. I purchased these gloves after injuries were mentioned on social media AND my quilty friend Carrie spent an entire evening in the ER from a rotary cutter injury (and at least a week not quilting at full capacity while recovering from it).
The gloves have grip, they move with you, they offer Level 9 cut protection, and they’re even screen friendly. If you use a rotary cutter, please get them and protect your precious hands that make beautiful things!
As quilters, we make So. Many. HSTs. These rulers are brilliant for making the trimming go quickly. Not only do they easily line up for trimming at whole and half-inch increments, but they also have slots to easily trim off the dog ears, leaving you with a perfect HST.
